Have you ever been told that happiness is a matter of choice ? Well .. If you want to know more, stay with us For a long time, I thought that happiness depended on external factors on which I had no control external factors on which I had no control I associated happiness with events that I thought must have necessarily happened to me I associated happiness with events that I thought must have necessarily happened to me to be able to taste happiness and feel happy. Many of us think that we will not taste happiness until we have the life we dream of. we will not taste happiness until we have the life we dream of. Etc. Well .. In fact, the reality is quite different Actually, our Happiness depends more on how “we” look at the experiences we live rather than the actual content of those experiences It depends also and especially on a factor that is really essential which is “THE MINDSET” It belongs to English language and means literally “the settings of the mind” In other words, the mindset is kind of a lunette of the mind through which we see the world around us To illustrate the power of the mindset I have chosen two completely baffling examples The first example was found in a scientific study by Benedetti and his colleagues in 2003 This team of researchers performed an experiment on a group of patients who had the same surgical operation who had the same surgical operation Half of these patients received a dose of morphine. The other half of them receive the same treatment without telling them. Well.. Surprisingly, in the first half groupe, patients say that they feel less pain while in the second half groupe, the effects of morphine seem not been felt. the second example is equally surprising It was also found in a scientific study It’s a study that measure the Mindset effect on physical exercices. To learn more, two researchers, Crum and Langer, met a particular group of women Housekeepers which work in hotels By the nature of their job and just by doing their work, these ladies are up most of the day, these ladies are up most of the day, use a wide variety of muscles and burn quite a lot of calories What is interesting to note is that these women do not look at their job this way Most of them say they do not practrice physical exercices at all And actually, by showing to them a presentation of 15′ by showing to them a presentation of 15′ enhancing their profession in terms of physical activity, the researchers had the great surprise to note 4 weeks later that these women lost weight, had a reduction in blood pressure, lost fat and reported having a better job satisfaction. reported having a better job satisfaction. The content we create for this mental speech influences greatly our vision on our-self et on people around us and on the world. It is very imperative to feed our mental constructive, healthy et positive thoughts. As we care about feed our body fresh healthy and natural food. So, how could we change our Mindset to increase our happiness level ? Actual, there is several levers and several doors to Happiness. The space of one video is not enough to talk about all of them. However, here three keys to begin The first one is to not to ask yourself anymore “Why” but rather “How”. Very often, the “why” of a cause, a problem or a trouble does not make us go ahead. On contrary, it makes us stagnate. As soon as we mourn it and accept it, it is important to go to the higher level and to look for HOW to resolve it. The 2nd key is to creat a mental image of a model to which we aspire and to imitate him. Even if it is only our imagination product or an assembly of characteristics of several differents people. The interest here is to have a landmark easily accessible. So, when we are in a critic situation or when we feel helpless we could instantly ask our self how would this model react ? Which behavior would he adopt to deal with this situation? By imitation and exercices, we learn to behave this way naturally. Finally, the 3rd key is gratitude. The advantages of gratitude are not longer to demonstrate. According to a study, gratitude increase the level of happiness, well being, and of feeling of life satisfaction and decrease the depression. So, the exercice of gratitude is a real investissement on the self. To do this, we can begin by a prayer, by saying thank you more conscientiously or by writting a thank you letter to a person (which could be alive or not) that inspired us in our life or by keeping a daily gratitude journal.
