Kids First Coding & Robotics

Posted on November 4, 2019 by admin

Meet Sammy! “Hi” This cute little sandwich is actually a robot
that will introduce your child to the world of coding… and engineering.
In Kids First Coding & Robotics Simply lay down a sequence of
physical code cards. Sammy will drive over the cards, scan them
one by one with his optical scanner, and record that sequence as a program. Then, watch as your robot runs the program
on a grid of large map cards, all without the need of
a smartphone, tablet, or computer. The optical scanner reads the map cards
so the robot can always orient itself and interact with other objects and machines you build. You can program your robot
to move in different directions, activate its output gear, light up its LED, play sounds, (“Hi”) and respond to function cards. But that’s not all! You can build all sorts of models on the same robotic base unit. Move a mouse through a maze to find the cheese. Wander around the zoo with a cute penguin. Score the winning goal with a soccer player. Put out a fire with a fire truck. Or put a factory robot to work in a factory scene. Follow along with a 64-page full-color manual
that includes 30 building and coding lessons. The coding curriculum in the manual introduces kids to the following concepts in computer programming: sequences, loops, functions,
conditions, events, algorithms, and variables. There’s even a special math mode
to test your math skills. And with 417 pieces you can create
all of Sammy’s Friends! Build and code your own robots.
With Kids First Coding & Robotics! For grades K-2, and ages 4-8. From Thames & Kosmos
