I would say I was like a regular student;
nothing really special, had average grades, didn’t do much, not really motivated in general.
So in the first year, my grades were still average although I was really working hard
now for the first time. And then in the second year all of a sudden I really started to understand.
Once you sort of grasp various ideas whether that’s programming or mathematics you can
really accelerate. And now I’m doing two masters indeed!
The way DKE works is we always have like a large half year project with a project group with international people. Well we wrote an intelligent agent for Angry Birds. A computer has to play it. So it watches the screen, like you would do as a human, it has to control
the mouse and basically try to solve the level. And that’s actually very difficult, if you
are able to write an intelligent agent that is able to understand the dynamics of the
Angry Bird game, it would also understand how traffic is working. Now that I’m actually
in my masters I realized that the broadness of DKE the wide field of choices that you
have after your studies is really convenient. You could go anywhere with the study, you
could name your company and I could tell you what knowledge Engineering could do there.
I’m really working on my CV with the two masters and with various other things like
teaching and stuff like that. I’m just trying to build up an international research career.
Google often accepts researchers from the research labs. And Microsoft as well. They
are considered the leaders in the research area. I would like something like that. And
that’s where I am going, or where I would like to head right now. I am basically aiming
for the world top. That’s what I am trying to do right now.
